Actor
Robby is Houston based with an MFA in Acting from the Univeristy of Houston and BFA in Theatre Performance from Belmont University. He has acted professionally in South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Some of his favorite roles include Mayer Lehman in The Lehman Trilogy, Bobby Strong in Urinetown, Brutus in Julius Caesar, CC Showers in The Diviners, Robin Hood in Robin Hood: A Musical Celebration, Watson in The Curious Case of the Watson Intelligence, and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Robby Matlock (so memorable in Stages’ The Lehman Trilogy as youngest brother Mayer, the “potato”) plays Henry Grey, in love with Georgiana from afar ever since he met her at one of her concerts. Prejudiced Darcy neither approves of this match nor her playing in public. Matlock knows just what he’s doing with his awkward poses and obsequious bows, but we know the flame for Georgiana will not be extinguished. No matter the obstacles – and there are many to be thrown in his path – he will win her, he thinks, even after years of not seeing her. It’s a detailed performance, right in every way.

Sid, played by the superlative Matlock, who shined so brightly in "The Lehman Trilogy" last year, steals a lot of scenes as he easily morphs from an elite Charleston playboy to a drunken guest, to someone deeply affected by the letters about Virginia he heard that got him “through" the war. He is hiding his Jewish identity as he has romantic designs on the rather naïve Virginia, who, unbelievably, doesn't immediately open Paul's last letter to her when presented with it with a stack of letters that Leland brings her.

Robby is an Actor-Combatant with the Society of American FIght Directors (SAFD). He has trained with Adam Noble and Eric Pasto-Crosby and has recieved Recommended Passes in Unarmed, Singlesword, Longsword, Rapier Dagger, and Knife. He’s been a Teaching Assisstant of Stage Combat at the University of Houston and Belmont University. He has choreographed fights for Romeo and Juliet, Now I Lay Me Down, Between Riverside and Crazy and Trojan Women.
He has also trained with renowned Intimacy Coordinators such as Adam Noble and Samantha Kaufman. His Intimacy Directing Credits include Between Riverside and Crazy.
